First of all, you should know that the initial visit does not have any expense for you and is free. Before starting the necessary procedures for surgery, you will be given a treatment plan, and if you do not want surgery, you can cancel the surgery and do not have the surgery. If you wish to start the surgical process, after entering the hospital and final admission, you will be given basic training. With the help of the head of the International Patient Department, you will get acquainted with the treatment staff. After the initial training and acquaintance, your blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, and body temperature will be monitored, and your doctor will perform an initial evaluation on you and tell you to have tests. Depending on the results of the tests, you may need to take medication, which all the information you need at this stage will be given to you. You will also have an ECG if needed. In the next step, you will be given the necessary advice to prepare for a lifestyle change as well as a diet change. After completing all these steps, you will be visited by an internist to issue a surgical permit. It is coordinated with the operating room to make an appointment for surgery, and also if there is a need for special care after surgery, the necessary coordination is made with the ICU and CCU departments. Finally, you have to fill in the surgical consent and anesthesia consent form and get ready to have the surgery.

After you have been given the necessary training and preparation before surgery, you will go to the operating room according to the pre-determined time. Gastric sleeve anesthesia is performed completely. After the surgery, you will be taken to the recovery ward to be monitored by your anesthesiologist and surgeon. Your vital signs will be recorded second by second. Once you regain consciousness, you will either return to the ward or be transferred to the intensive care unit as determined by your doctor. Until your condition stabilizes, you will receive regular nursing care such as medication, serum therapy, dressing changes, and bleeding control. To relieve pain during this period, painkillers prescribed by your doctor are prepared and used. Note that you can only drink fluids for a few days after the operation and follow the diet given to you.

Up to 2 to 3 days after surgery (the length of your hospital stay depends on your general condition), you will be visited daily by your doctor and your recovery will be monitored. In addition to a daily visit by a surgeon, the nursing team will also take care of you, such as changing clothes, controlling bleeding, medication and other necessary measures.

Once your condition has stabilized, you will be given all the necessary care and nutritional training, as well as all the medications you need to take to continue the healing process at home. It should be noted that if necessary and at the discretion of the doctor, you may be monitored for an additional night, otherwise you can be discharged on the fifth day.

In the first week after gastric sleeve surgery, your diet will be limited to fluids. In the second week, protein will be added to the fluids. In the third week, you can start eating soft and pureed foods, and in the following weeks, you should add solid foods to your diet; But we emphasize that your nutrition must be under the supervision of a doctor, because for each body according to different factors, a different diet is considered.

It is better to stay in Iran for a week after discharge to avoid a long trip and to easily access the doctor and be examined if you need to.
