Breast Lift

What is a breast lift?

If you suffer from sagging breasts and feel uncontrollable in physical and sexual activity, you may want to consider a breast lift. Basically, this surgery can be done at any age. However, an important prerequisite for this surgery is that your body and breasts are fully developed.

Every woman wants to have shapely and firm breasts. However, the reality is often different. During life, after pregnancy and breastfeeding, after rapid weight gain or weight loss, the breasts become increasingly loose and their appearance is no longer as desired. But breast lift surgery completely eliminates these problems and brings breasts back to the desired shape and form. The main causes of sagging breasts are severe weight changes, pregnancy, connective tissue weakness (hereditary), large breast volume or severe hormone fluctuations.

Breast lift or surgery to eliminate sagging breast is also called mastopexy.

This surgery is performed to reshape the breast. It is done in such a way that when the breasts are lifted, the extra skin of the breast is removed and the breast tissue is reformed to lift the breasts. Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) or surgery to tighten them again is performed by reducing or even increasing the size of the breasts by removing excessive stretch and breast skin.

Surgical methods

The surgical method depends on the initial condition of the breast and the desired result. There are various techniques that are explained to the patient depending on their need. The main goal is to create as few scars as possible and create the most natural shape possible. There are more than twenty different cutting methods for breast lift, and only one of them is considered standard for each person.

Depending on the initial condition, there are three basic methods for breast lift:

Tighten the breasts

When tightened, the extra skin on the lower breast is removed, the nipple is moved upwards, and the size of the areola is usually reduced. Inside the chest, various techniques are performed to prevent the chest from drooping again with the help of an "inner bra" made of skin flaps, muscle, or fascia suspension.

Tighten with size reduction

If the breast feels too large or causes health problems because of its size, a breast lift can be combined with a partial removal of the glandular tissue. This makes the breasts smaller and firmer.

Tighten by filling the implant

Tightened breasts often look much smaller than sagging breasts, although no glandular tissue is removed during mastopexy. In these cases, it may be necessary to combine the firming and enlargement with the implant. This is the most difficult type of breast lift, as the surgeon must calculate the slight sagging of the breasts that occurs in each lift in the first 6 months after surgery. Therefore, this operation is often done in two stages (first tightening and 6 months later enlargement). Tightening without moving the nipples and removing excess skin is possible only with implants, with only a slight sagging of the breast, or with very large implants.
