Labiaplasty surgery
Two common techniques for labiaplasty include the Trime method and the Wedge method. The Trime method is more popular because it is easier. In this procedure, excess tissue is removed and then sutured. Excess tissue is removed with a laser or a scalpel. In the Wedge method, a v-shaped incision is made, usually for small labias. In this method, less scars remain. Sometimes it is necessary to remove more tissue from the labia, in which the Z-PlastyTechnique method is used. The advantage of this method over Wedge method is that this surgical method leaves less scars.
Laser labiaplasty
Deformity in the labia can have many reasons. Hormonal changes, aging, multiple pregnancies, genetic factors and non-standard weight loss diets can be among these factors. One type of labiaplasty uses lasers. This operation can be performed under local anesthesia, generally does not require sutures, and if necessary, a few small absorbable sutures are performed.
The advantages of laser labiaplasty
Laser labiaplasty is more delicate and, in addition, reduces the possibility of errors due to surgery with a razor in this method. Another advantage of laser surgery is the lack of need for hospitalization and less postoperative care in this method. Intraoperative bleeding is also reduced due to tissue damage's reduction under surgery.
Disadvantages of Labiaplasty
One of the complications of labiaplasty surgery is infection at the surgical site, which usually occurs in the early days after surgery. Delivery should not usually take place until one year after the operation because a normal delivery can damage the tissues. In some cases, scars may remain. After surgery, a person may experience a burning sensation, which can be prevented by following the principles of correct sitting and not eating caffeinated foods, spicy foods and fast foods, and following a healthy diet. Swelling and bruising also occur after surgery, which resolves over time.
Advantages of Labiaplasty
In labiaplasty surgery, deformed tissues are removed. After surgery, when the inner and outer edges of the vagina reach the standard size, the person feels comfortable and the problems that occur while wearing tight clothes or doing activities which made the edges become abraded are eliminated. In fact, reducing the itching and friction caused by activity can be relieved and can improve sexual intercourse. In addition, the person has a good feeling mentally and psychologically and it has a positive effect on women's self-esteem.
