Abdominoplasty is a procedure in which excess fat and skin on the abdomen are removed and the abdominal muscles are tightened. Abdominal cosmetic surgery procedure

It is interesting to know that we have two types of cosmetic abdominal surgery, which are as follows:

Mini abdominoplasty
Complete abdominoplasty

First of all, you should know that both operations are performed under general anesthesia. The main difference in the types of abdominoplasties is the amount of incision that will be made to make changes. In mini abdominoplasty, a small incision will be made in the lower abdomen, but in other methods, the incision will be wider.

The incision made in mini-abdominoplasty or mini tummy tuck will be in the lower abdomen or under the navel, then the excess fat and skin will be removed and the abdominal muscles will be repaired and tightened. In mini-abdominoplasty, there is no need to cut and move the navel.

The duration of the operation is 3 to 4 hours for tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, but for mini tummy tuck or mini abdominoplasty surgery, this time is less and will be about 1 to 2.5 hours.

Also, the recovery period after mini-abdominoplasty is shorter.

Step by Step

(Admission)

First of all, you should know that the initial visit does not cost you any expense and is free. After entering the hospital and the final admission, you will be given basic training and with the help of the head of the International Patients’ Department, you will get acquainted with the treatment staff. After the initial training and acquaintance, your blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, and body temperature will be monitored, and your doctor will perform an initial evaluation on you and tell you to have tests. After the evaluation and consultation with the doctor, if you do not want surgery, you can cancel your request without paying any fees and do not perform surgery. Depending on the results of the tests, you may need to take medication, and you will receive all the information you need at this stage. You will also have an ECG if needed. After performing all these steps, if necessary, you will be visited by an internist and will be coordinated with the operating room to make an appointment for surgery. If special care is needed after surgery, the necessary coordination will be made with the ICU and CCU departments and finally you have to fill in the surgical consent and anesthesia consent form and get ready for surgery.

After you have been given the necessary training and preparation before surgery, you will go to the operating room according to the pre-determined time. As mentioned above, abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. After the surgery, you will be taken to the recovery ward to be monitored by your anesthesiologist and surgeon, and your vital signs will be recorded second by second. Once you regain consciousness, you will either return to the ward or be transferred to the intensive care unit as determined by your doctor. Until your condition stabilizes, you will receive regular nursing care such as medication, serum therapy, dressing changes, and bleeding control. To relieve pain during this period, painkillers prescribed by your doctor are prepared and used.

On the second day after the operation, you will be examined and visited by the surgeon and you will be given all the necessary care training; You will also be prescribed all the medications you need to take to continue the healing process at home. It should be noted that, if necessary and at the discretion of the doctor, you may be hospitalized and monitored for a longer period of time; Otherwise, you can be released on the second day.

It is better to stay in Iran for a week after discharge to avoid a long trip and to easily access the doctor and be examined if you need to. But if you want, you can return home any day you want from the day after the discharge. We will not leave you alone and whenever you have any questions, you can contact us or even have a video call with your doctor through the head of the department. In addition, your ward manager will be in touch with you in the first week after your discharge to ensure your health.
