Upper eyelid surgery
In the upper eyelid surgery that the incision is done by a knife or a monopolar cutter, the skin is separated after marking and the intraorbital fat (eye socket) and part of the upper eye muscle are taken which cause the puffy eyes.
The stiches are needed in the upper eyelid surgery and the stiches will be taken at least 14-17 days after surgery and some creams will be prescribed for correction and repairing the incision site.
Recovery period of upper eyelid is not more than a day and a half.
Lower eyelid surgery
One of our advantages in the lower eyelid surgery is that it is done without stiches and from the inner part of the eye with the transconjunctival method and there will be no stich mark on the skin and this is one of our advantages that is done by the orbit specialist and is present in our center.
Naturally, the lower eyelid surgery is more sensitive according to the relation that it has with the eye socket and surgery time and anesthesia possibility are higher.
Recovery period of lower eyelid is 2 to 3 days and avoid doing heavy actions during this time.
During surgery, according to the cooperation of the patient, anesthesia for upper eyelid is not needed, but in the lower eyelid surgery, if the patient can not cooperate well, anesthesia may be vital; but in both surgeries, local anesthesia can be done.
Does the Blepharoplasty surgery have stitch marks?
The matter that the patient had extra tissue or colloid (extra skin) in the previous surgery sites of the abdomen and head and face, is not a guarantee that it will not have stitch marks here!
But according to the proficiency of our surgeons, some parts of this subject depend on the surgeon to decrease this side effect by precise incisions exactly on the eyelid groove. It is worth mentioning that according to the newly published studies about the risks of laser surgery, incision by knife is now preferred by our surgeons.
Generally, surgery incision mark is related more to the body’s reaction and its healing process than the surgeon’s!
Consumption of some drugs increases the possibility of bleeding during and after the surgery; so, avoid using them 1 to 2 weeks before the surgery.
And recovery is 50 percent after two weeks and candidates will achieve 90 percent of their satisfaction level after three months.
